Lisbon Ave. In 2003, the new Washington Park Library opened across from Washington Park. The site is at the crossroads of the bustling Sherman and Lisbon intersection and employs a commanding presence in the neighborhood.

The Locust Library was renamed the Martin Luther King Library in 1973. In 2014, MPL began the process of replacing the dated M.L. King Branch. Moody Nolan has been selected to design the new library, which holds an expected completion in 2023.
