The final stop on our tour brings us back through the Grand Rotunda to the Library Bookseller. The Bookseller is a used bookshop operated by the Friends of the Milwaukee Public Library. This organization was formed from a merger of the Bookfellows and the Library Literary Society in the spring of 1998. They donate proceeds to help MPL buy new materials and offer programs. MPL is also supported by the Milwaukee Public Library Foundation. While the Foundation is a separate organization from the Friends, it also raises funds to support MPL through private donations. These donations go towards books, materials, programs, and library facilities projects.
Also, in this space is room for a local small café business. While we are sad to see our last vendor leave, we are excited to find a new partner with whom to move forward.

Please come browse the aisles, buy a gently used book, some library-related swag and have a drink or snack. The hours vary, so if it is not open, please come visit us again.
Thank you for touring MPL Central Library! We hope you enjoyed yourself.
