Available services include: Wi-Fi, copying & printing, catalog access, item retrieval, library card registration & renewal, 2-hour access to computers, scan station, fax, copier, picking up reserved items (holds) and quick reference assistance. Holds and checkouts available. Beginning Monday, June 7, 2021, patrons will be allowed to resume browsing materials in the stacks for both children’s and adult materials in all branch locations. Browsing remains restricted at Central Library.
The Mitchell Street Branch is the largest of Milwaukee Public Library’s branch libraries. The branch is part of an historic restoration and redevelopment of the five-story Hill’s Building which was once home to a department store of the same name. This mixed-use facility also includes sixty apartment units, eight of which are townhouse units that are located in the rear of the building.
