Poetry Rocks! Students will read poetry from popular children’s authors. Then they’ll write their own poems using a variety of poetic styles. Topics may include Bug Off, Apology Poems, My Milwaukee, Where I’m From, Disgusting Love Poems, and more.

Bay View Library, Saturday, April 18, 2-3:30 p.m.

Be sure to submit all of your poetic creations to the Teen Poetry Contest.  All Milwaukee youth ages 10-18 are encouraged to submit an original poem with an entry form to compete in this year’s Poetry Contest! Submit up to two poems online at www.mpl.org from April 1-30. Prizes will be awarded to the top three poems in three age categories (10-12, 13-15, and 16-18). Winners will be announced at the Teen Poetry Slam at Villard Square Branch on Monday, May 11 (6-7:30 p.m.) and may be published on the MPL webpage and Facebook pages!
