Cupcakes and Crafts at the East Branch Book to Art Club!
The detailed descriptions of Milwaukee's food scene in the quirky romance The Coincidence of Coconut Cake by Wisconsin author Amy E. Reichert, inspired the MPL East Branch Book to Art Club this week.
We crafted Milwaukee collage cupcake toppers using old maps and tiny printouts of the amazing Milwaukee neighborhood poster series created by Jan Kotowicz.
You can purchase poster size copies or postcards from the Department of City Development (a great holiday gift idea) and a steal at just $3 + shipping per poster or $15 + shipping for a boxed set of 12 postcards. We also recommend putting a hold on local historian John Gurda's latest book, Milwaukee: City of Neighborhoods.
The East Branch Book to Art Club will return in January 26th with The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. Pre-registration opens December 18th.
