Be a Super Reader @ Playgrounds This Summer!
What does summer mean to you? Bike rides, picnics, beaches and trails? Yes, and more! Summer time also means reading time. Encouraging our children to read daily and to read for pleasure becomes even more important in these summer months as we try to prevent the "summer slide," the loss of academic skills over the summer break. Milwaukee Public Library's Super Reader summer reading program is here to help you and your family defeat Dr. Brain Drain and now we have a new program: Be a Super Reader @ Playgrounds!
Library staff will be at playgrounds across the city to share books and fun reading activities. Be a Super Reader @ Playgrounds runs from June 23-August 22 (there will be no programs 7/3, 7/4, and 7/7-7/11). All of the playgrounds we visit are free meal sites established by Milwaukee Recreation. See the full schedule below.
