Milwaukee Mayhem Oct. 20th at Central

By MPL Staff on Oct 17, 2015 12:00 AM

Just in time for the Halloween season, I’ll be presenting my new book Milwaukee Mayhem: Murder and Mystery in the Cream City’s First Century this Tuesday, October 20, at 6:30 pm in Centennial Hall. The free event is open to the public and is the official Milwaukee launch event for the book.

Milwaukee Mayhem is a collection of some of the strangest, goriest, and wildest events from the city’s past. The stories cover happenings and characters that had mostly been lost to history. Culled from the grand old journalistic style of ages past, these stories are presented in the same context as they were presented to the public at that time. Some are funny, some are tragic, some are sinfully entrancing… but they are a part of this big, weird place we call home. And we cannot really understand Milwaukee without them.

I’ll read some of the darker and creepier stories from the book, and a question and answer period and book signing will follow. Boswell Books and the Wisconsin Historical Society Press are co-sponsoring the event.
