Street Art: Learn, Then Do!

By Tim on Dec 4, 2015 10:00 AM

Have you seen some the fabulous street art in Milwaukee, like the mural outside the Youth Empowerment Center, or in the UWM Student Union Art Gallery, and thought ‘I wish I could learn more about that’. Well, then you should come to see True Skool’s lecture on the history of graffiti, social art movements, legal issues, and the gradual acceptance of graffiti as an art form, which will take place this coming Monday December 7 at the downtown Central library, at 5:30 pm.

But wait, we’ve got more than just a lecture! After you’ve been to the lecture, you’re going to want to learn some of those great street art techniques. And that’s where the True Skool workshop next Saturday comes in.

That’s right; you have the chance to attend a workshop taught by True Skool artists. It will provide an opportunity to learn about and try different graffiti styles. All you have to do is pre-register and come to the downtown Central Library on Saturday, December 12, from 1 to 3:30 pm.

How often can you come to the library and have a hands-on chance to learn street art techniques? Register today!
