Joe's Violin Film Screening and String Academy of Wisconsin Performance at East

Saturday, April 07, 2018 - 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Audience: Any Age

Categories: Entertainment/Recreation

Taking part in the nationwide effort to honor the victims of the Holocaust, the Milwaukee Public Library East Branch will hold a Days of Remembrance program featuring a documentary film screening followed by a performance by students from the String Academy of Wisconsin. In the Oscar®-nominated Joe's Violin, a donated musical instrument forges an improbable friendship between 91-year-old Holocaust survivor Joe Feingold and 12-year-old Bronx schoolgirl Brianna Perez, proving that the power of music can bring light into the darkest of times, and a small act can have a significant impact.

Location: East Library "Ellipse" Community Room
