Reader’s Theater is a fun, easy way to get students involved in reading aloud. It’s a great way for students to develop confidence and fluency. Reluctant readers are often motivated by Reader’s Theater. In Reader’s Theater, readers read from a "script" created from grade level books or stories. The reading parts are divided among the readers. With Reader’s Theater there is no memorization or costumes. Presentations can easily be done with students in any grade. Scripts are held by the readers. Lines are not memorized. The focus is on reading the text with expressive voices and gestures.
