Hispanic Poets in Wisconsin

The publication this month of I Didn't Know There Were Latinos in Wisconsin: Three Decades of Hispanic Writing by Cowfeather Press is an excellent opportunity to focus on Wisconsin's Hispanic poets. Oscar Mireles, the editor of this latest anthology, also put together two earlier anthologies on the "I Didn't Know..." theme, both of which are available at MPL. Henry David Thoreau - Plaque Dedication in Milwaukee 9/27

On June 27th 1861, Henry David Thoreau and his traveling companion, Horace Mann, Jr., arrived in Milwaukee by train. They stayed one night at the Lake House Hotel on Ferry and Lake Streets, site of today's Colectivo Coffee.
