¿Dónde está la biblioteca?

Traveling to a foreign land? Just want to give your noggin a good workout? MPL has two online options available for learning a foreign language!

One is called Mango Languages. It offers 63 languages to choose from, including unique varieties such as Canadian French, Brazilian Portuguese and Ancient Greek. Mango provides a fun, immersive audio-visual experience that will get you hooked from the get-go!

The other is Pronunciator. Pronunciator has 80 languages and has neat features like a Virtual Coach and Virtual conversation tools that will seem almost like you are learning from a native speaker. It also offers ESL and the option to learn any of the 80 languages through 50 other languages, which is useful if, say, you are a native Spanish speaker wanting to learn Norwegian.

Both resources allow access through mobile apps on Android and Apple devices, making everywhere you go a place to learn.

Get started by going to mpl.org, select "Research", and select "All Library Databases" under the "Databases" heading. Databases are listed in alphabetical order. If logging in from home, you will need your library card number and PIN (sorry, remote access for City of Milwaukee residents only). You'll be a polyglot in no time thanks to MPL!
