Dial C for Cake, It's Alfred Hitchcock's Birthday!

A Life in Darkness and Light by Patrick McGilligan

If you find yourself at the end of your Rope, suffering Vertigo every time you look out your Rear Window at all The Birds, with the sneaking Suspicion that you might just go Psycho... the reason might just be that today is Alfred Hitchcock’s birthday.  Hitchcock had a visual style so striking and innovative that he has been called the most influential filmmaker of all time (not to mention the fact that he’s also call The Master of Suspense, which is a grandiose but apt nickname). There’s a reason so many of his movies are considered classics, and hold up even to this day: he knew how to make a mighty fine movie.

So why not check one out from your local library branch today? We also have plenty of books on the man, his myth, and his legend. And if you don’t have a library card, well, you can get one of those today, too! I’m quite certain that’s exactly how he’d want you to celebrate his birthday. Either getting your library card, or running frantically through a cornfield pursued by an evil crop duster. One of the two.
