It is a part of the Central Library’s Humanities and Archives Department. These holdings are in differing stages of organization and preparation, hence accessibility varies.

Finding aids for some of the Local History Manuscript Collections listed in the index may be consulted in paper form in the Frank P. Zeidler Humanities Room at the Central Library. Increasingly, finding aids for the Local History Manuscript Collections may be found online in the Special Collections Finder digital collection.

New! As of 11/11/2015, the finding aid for Mss# 352, Carl F. and Frank P. Zeidler Papers, 1918-1981, is now available for download as a single PDF. This finding aid may also be viewed page by page in the Special Collections Finder, where its contents are searchable alongside hundreds of other finding aids from MPL's archival collections.

Using the Collections

The public may view Local History Manuscript Collections  only by appointment in the Archives Reading Room of the Central Library. To request an appointment, please contact the Humanities and Archives Department at 414 286-3061.
